Coaching Staff
Dan Wood
Dan is entering his 11th season coaching with Stevenson and the first one as Hockey Director and Head Varsity Coach. He has held many coaching roles at Stevenson, including: JV Assistant Coach (2 seasons), JV White Co-Head Coach (1 season) and Varsity Assistant Coach (8 seasons).During his coaching tenure with Stevenson, many historical firsts were achieved including: First Varsity State Championship (2021-2022), Varsity USA Hockey Nationals Runner Up (2021-2022), Varsity State Runner-Up (2017-2018), 3 Varsity Final Four Appearances, JV State Championship (2012-2013 Season), Third JV Final Four Appearance (2013-2014 Season) and JV White Divisional League Championship (2017-2018 Season).
In addition to coaching Stevenson, Dan is the Head Coach and Hockey Director at DePaul University. He has been with the DePaul program since 2020. Since taking over the program he's taken DePaul from a consistent 27th-35th ranked team to being ranked 5th in the region last season and 12th in the Nation.
Dan grew up playing hockey in the Chicagoland Area with the Highland Park Falcons program with a one-year stint at the Chill AAA program. Dan played Varsity hockey at Stevenson High school for 4 years. In addition to playing hockey, Dan was a nationally ranked Olympic Weightlifter, winning the State Championship 3 years in a row. After Stevenson, he played 4 years at Miami University of Ohio on their ACHA D2 team graduating with a degree in Finance. Dan is a USA Hockey Level 5 Coach.

Varsity Head Coach
Marc Shellist
Marc is in his fifth year as an Assistant Coach working with the forwards. Marc was on the coaching staff for their first appearance at the United Center for the Varsity State Championship (2017-2018).
In addition to coaching at Stevenson, he is a head coach for the Ice Dogs Hockey Association. He has been with the Ice Dogs for over 16 years as both a coach and the Club's president. Marc has coached in both NIHL and CSDHL at every level and has won championships in both leagues, NIHL U14 (2017) and CSDHL U15 (2018).

Varsity Assistant Coach
Brian Murtha
After a break of a few years, Brian rejoins the Stevenson Hockey staff as a Varsity and JV White Assistant Coach, making this his 6th season with the program. During his prior tenure, he held a variety of positions including JV Gold Head Coach, JV Gold Assistant Coach and Varsity Assistant Coach.
Brian grew up playing hockey in the Chicagoland Area starting with the Glenview Stars and eventually making his way to Stevenson High School as a 3 year Varsity player. After Stevenson, Brian played 2 years for Robert Morris (now, Roosevelt University) on their ACHA D1 team and he finished his college playing at Miami University of Ohio on their ACHA D2 team.

Varsity & JV White Assistant Coach
Ralph Menotti
Ralph is in his 6th season coaching at Stevenson. Final four appearances all 5 seasons in State tournament. 1 - State Championship, 1 State runner up. Top 3 in league standings all 5 seasons, 1 season league Championship.
Ralph has been coaching in the Chicagoland Area for 35+ years. He has spent the last 8 years coaching at the Central States level with the Vernon Hills Ice Dogs. Ralph has also coached 4 seasons with the Chicago Young Americans AAA organization, 10 seasons with the Highland Park Falcons, and 8 seasons with the Glenview Stars organization. In addition to his experience coaching, Ralph served as hockey director of the Glenview Stars during his tenure with the organization. Ralph is a Level 5 USA Hockey coach.
Both of his kids play D1 and D3 NCAA college hockey.

JV Gold Head Coach
Frank DeMaio
Frank is in his 6th season coaching at Stevenson. In 5 seasons at Stevenson, the JV team made 5 straight Final 4 appearances, including a state championship, state Runner-Up and for the first time in Stevenson history an SHL President’s cup.
Frank has been coaching for over 15 years at the High School, CSHL and AAA levels.

JV Gold Assistant Coach
Anthony Lagori
Anthony grew up locally in Hawthorn Woods, starting playing hockey for the Ice Dogs and eventually transitioning to Falcons CSDHL for his Midget years. In 2020 he started coaching at the Ice Dogs as an Assistant on the AA Squirt team and has been a Head Coach during 2021 for the Ice Dogs Bantam Silver team.
