Tom is entering his 19th season with Stevenson and is in his 5th season as the Varsity head coach and Hockey Director. Tom was the assistant coach for Stevenson for the previous 14 years where he ran the special teams for 14 years, defense for 12 years, and offense for 2 years. Two years ago the Varsity Team advanced to the State Championship at United Center for the first time in school history. During Tom’s tenure Stevenson has won 6 Thanksgiving Tournaments, 1 Metro North Regular Season Championship, 2 Metro North Playoff Championships, and 2 Chicago Metro Scholastic Cup Championships. They have also been to the State Elite Eight 9 times and the State Sweet Sixteen 8 times.
Tom grew up playing hockey in the Chicagoland area playing Mite and Squirt hockey with the Northbrook Bluehawks. He then joined the Chicago Young Americans AAA program from Peewee to Midget Major (U18) with one stop at Team Illinois. During his junior year, he started to play for the Stevenson Varsity hockey team. In his senior year, he was an All-State player, was selected to the prestigious Chicago Showcase Team and was the Assistant Captain. Tom was inducted into the Stevenson Hockey Hall of Fame in 2008. After High School, Tom played 4 years of hockey at the University of Arizona ACHA Division 1. He graduated from the University of Arizona with degrees in Business Management and Marketing.
Varsity Head Coach
Dan is entering his 9th season coaching with Stevenson and has held many coaching roles, including: JV Assistant Coach (2 seasons), JV White Co-Head Coach (1 season) and Varsity Assistant Coach (6 seasons). Dan focuses on defense as a Varsity Assistant. During his coaching tenure with Stevenson, many historical firsts were achieved including: First JV State Championship (2012-2013 Season), Third JV Final Four Appearance (2013-2014 Season), JV White Divisional League Championship (2017-2018 Season) and the first Varsity State Championship appearance (2017-2018 Season).
In addition to coaching Stevenson, Dan is the Head Coach at DePaul University. He has previously been the Hockey Director/Head High School Coach for the Milwaukee Area Youth Hockey Association and is the Co-Founder of Milwaukee Select Hockey training organization. Dan is a USA Hockey Level 5 Coach and is the Program's Strength and Conditioning Coach.
Dan grew up playing hockey in the Chicagoland Area with the Highland Park Falcons program with a one-year stint at the Chill AAA program. Dan played Varsity hockey at Stevenson High school for 4 years. In addition to playing hockey, Dan was a nationally ranked Olympic Weightlifter, winning the State Championship 3 years in a row. After Stevenson, he played 4 years at Miami University of Ohio on their club hockey team.
Varsity Assistant Coach
Marc is in his third year as an assistant coach for the Varsity team. 2017-2018 he worked with the coaching staff as a part-time assistant and helped prepare the team for their first trip to the United Center for the championship game. He has 15 years of coaching experience for the Ice Dogs Hockey Association where he has coached at every level of youth hockey. 2017-2018 season he coached at the U15 level in the Central States league where the team won the championship.
Varsity Assistant Coach
Ralph is in his 3rd season coaching at Stevenson having won the JV State Championship last year. Ralph has been coaching in the Chicagoland Area for 35 years. He has spent the last 8 years coaching at the Central States level with the Vernon Hills Ice Dogs. Ralph has also coached 3 seasons with the Chicago Young Americans AAA organization, 10 seasons with the Highland Park Falcons, and 8 seasons with the Glenview Stars organization. In addition to his experience coaching, Ralph served as hockey director of the Glenview Stars during his tenure with the organization. Ralph is a Level 5 USA Hockey coach and is the Stevenson Hockey on-staff goalie coach.
JV Head Coach
Frank is in his 5th season coaching at Stevenson. He coached for the Vernon Hills Ice Dogs for 8 years. Frank grew up playing AAA hockey in Chicago for the Chicago Minor Hawks and Team Illinois. In High School he moved to Minnesota to play for the State Champion Burnsville Braves. Frank played college hockey for the University of Arizona Ice Cats.
JV Assistant Coach
This is Libor’s 3rd year coaching for the JV Gold team. He is a former AHL player with the Chicago Wolves and has been coaching at the Vernon Hills Ice Dogs for the past 7 years.
