COVID-19 Spring/Summer Season Update as of 4/24/2020

Virtual Workouts: Will continue through May.  Please check the online calendar for dates and times.

Tryouts and Pre-Tryout Clinics: Clinics and Tryouts have been updated.  Pre-Tryout Clinics will be held May 31st 7:15-8:15 (New Players), 8:25-9:30 (Returning Players) and June 1st  7:30-8:30 (Returning Players), 8:40-9:40 (New Players). Both of the Pre-Tryout Clinics will be held at Hot Shots.  Tryouts will be held at Twin Rinks on 6/2 from 6:30-8:40, all player should attend.  Given that all players will be on the ice for tryouts, we have reserved four locker rooms and the party room to allow for players to adequately space out while dressing.

“Spring” and “Summer” Schedule: We have successfully rescheduled all of the Spring ice into June, July and August as we anticipate a June 1st start.  Every team has the exact same amount of ice time as originally budgeted and planned.  Please visit the calendar section of the website for further details.  Any item listed "Spring Skills" is ice that has been rescheduled.  Any games or tournaments are attributable to Spring season. Both ice seasons will just run concurrently.

Safety Protocols: We understand the vigilance that must be taken as we all begin group activities again.  To limit the close proximity of players immediately after the Stay at Home order is released, we will have modified locker room procedures and bench procedures. We are in communication with the rinks on their protocol and will be implementing safety protocols of our own.  As we near that date, I will send out a detailed email with safety protocols given different scenarios (rinks, game vs practice, available locker room space, etc).  Whenever possible, we will be reserving additional locker rooms and party rooms to provide extra space. These protocols may include:

  • Coming to the rink pre-dressed in "bottoms" to allow for the rest of equipment to be put on in a lobby/hall way setting where there is more space between players
  • Staggered locker room dressing times assigned to allow for less than 10 players in the room at one time
  • Utilization of rink party rooms, in addition to locker rooms to allow for more distance between players
  • Twin Rinks has already discussed pre-taping the locker room into 6 foot increments to give players a visual reminder of space needed in close proximity
  • Suggestion to wear a mask in the locker room if space constraints during game situations can't be pre-arranged

New Schedule Conflicts: Please keep an open line of communication with Katie Wood regarding any schedule conflicts or potential conflicts that may arrise as other sports seasons get rescheduled in this same manner or other commitments such as camps, etc. We understand all activities are working on whether they will have a viable season or schedule.  We are more than happy to work with you if the new schedule presents challenges.

Registration:  If cancellations to other sports or activities results in you wanting to register for the Spring/Summer program, we are still holding registration open.  There's no need to wait to register until we get on the ice.  Get a jump start to getting in shape for the season by joining for virtual workouts!
